As Sony’s press event wraps, we finally got an official word about our recent leak of the Sony VAIO Duo 11. The device is a Hybrid tablet that can become a laptop when you need it and a slate tablet when you need it. As opposed to the Microsoft Surface, the keyboard on the VAIO Duo 11 is non-detachable, so it does have some extra heft to it.
The most interesting part about this tablet is that it falls more into the Ultrabook category with support for Core i3, i5 and i7 processors. It packs an 11-inch display with 1080p resolution and support for a digitizer stylus, along with capacity for 128 and 256GB SSDs, GPS, NFC and HD-capable cameras in the front and back.
The release is expected for late October along with the launch of Windows 8, and we’ll most likely get the non-attractive price tag when that happens.
