New Galaxy Note 2 Leaked Pic Looks Legit, Confirms 5.5-Inch Screen

Yesterday, we shared with you a very fake-looking mock-up of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. If you were hoping for something that feels a lot more legitimate, we’ve got just what you need, upon the release of a leaked photo of what could just be the Note 2′s front glass.

The first thing that might strike your eye is that ruler – we saw what appears to be the very same one in the image that surfaced yesterday purporting to show a similar front glass panel, only then for a new Nokia Windows Phone 8 handset; apparently there’s somebody out there with access to components from quite a few manufacturers, and who isn’t afraid to share them with smartphone fans.

At just about 14 centimeters across, the display here matches-up nicely with the 5.5 inches we’ve heard rumored over and over for the Note 2. You’ll also notice that the sensor holes on this component don’t match-up with yesterday’s render, suggesting that Samsung’s making a bit of a departure from the GS3′s layout.

We’re expecting Samsung to finally announce the Galaxy Note 2 on August 29, right before the IFA in Berlin. Chances are, we’ll see it arrive with an HD screen and running an Exynos 4 Quad.
